Setting up Claude (step by step)

Everything you need to connect Claude to your company’s CRM: requirements, the CRM address, the connector in the Claude app, the automatic worker (Windows), checking, changing the schedule, removing it, and common problems. Business and Enterprise plans.

Claude (Anthropic’s AI) connects to the CRM through a “connector”: it reads CRM data, drafts replies to customer questions, runs the commands from the «🧠 Claude» page and returns reports to the CRM, and answers questions about using the CRM from the help center. Claude never sends anything to customers by itself — you approve replies in the CRM. There are two modes: (1) manual — a button opens the Claude app (claude.ai) with the task ready and you click “Send”; (2) automatic — an “automatic worker” is installed on one Windows computer of the company, buttons do not open a window, and tasks and reply drafts are prepared by themselves. Steps 1–3 are needed for both modes, step 4 additionally for the automatic mode.

What you need

A Business or Enterprise plan in the CRM (Claude is included in these plans) and admin rights in the CRM.

A Claude account (claude.ai). Adding your own connector requires a paid Claude plan: Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise. On Team / Enterprise the organisation Owner adds the connector first.

For the automatic worker (optional): one Windows 10 / 11 computer that is on during working hours, internet, Node.js and Claude Code (installation in step 4). Windows admin rights are not needed.

Claude’s work uses the limits of your Claude account — the CRM does not charge extra.

Step 1. Create the Claude address in the CRM

Sign in to the CRM as an admin → “Settings” in the left menu → the “🧠 Claude connection” section.

Enter your CRM password in the “Your password” field and click “Create URL”.

Copy the address shown (it starts with https://api.crm.sbt.az/api/mcp/…) with the button next to it and keep it somewhere safe (e.g. a password manager). The address is shown only once.

If you lose it, click “Create a new URL” — the old one stops working immediately. Then update the new address both in the Claude app (step 2) and in the automatic worker (by running the installer again).

Step 2. Add the connector in the Claude app

Sign in to claude.ai in your browser (or the Claude Desktop app) with your Claude account.

Click your name at the bottom left → “Settings” → “Connectors”.

Click “Add custom connector”. Enter «SBT CRM» as the Name, paste the address from step 1 as the URL and click “Add”.

On Team / Enterprise: the organisation Owner first adds the connector in “Organization settings” → “Connectors”, then each user clicks “Connect” in their own “Settings” → “Connectors”.

In a chat, «SBT CRM» must be switched on in the tools menu below the message box.

The first time Claude uses CRM tools it asks for permission. You can give “Always allow” to reading tools; always keep the “send_reply” tool (sending to the customer) on “ask” or switch it off — replies should only go out after your approval in the CRM.

Step 3. Check

Open a new chat in Claude and write: «Show the customer questions waiting for a reply in SBT CRM». Claude should connect to the CRM and show the list.

In the CRM, on the «🧠 Claude» page in the top bar, click any command (e.g. «🗓 Daily summary»). Claude opens in a new window with the text ready — click “Send”. In a few minutes the report appears in the CRM “Reports” list and you get a notification.

In Settings → “🧠 Claude connection” the “last used” time updates — this shows Claude is connected to the CRM.

Step 4. Automatic worker (Windows computer, optional)

This is a small program on one company computer: every day from 09:00 to 20:00 it asks the CRM every 5 minutes “are there waiting tasks?” and if so starts Claude in the background; every day at 10:00, 14:00 and 17:00 it prepares reply drafts for customer questions. No window appears on screen. One computer per company is enough.

a) Node.js: go to nodejs.org → download the “LTS” version (Windows Installer, .msi) → open the file, click “Next” on each screen and finally “Install”.

b) Claude Code: type «PowerShell» in the Start menu and open it, paste this command and press Enter: irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iex — when it finishes, close the PowerShell window.

c) Sign in to Claude Code: open PowerShell again, type claude and press Enter. A browser opens — sign in with the same Claude account you used in step 2 (“Claude account with subscription”). After signing in, type /exit in PowerShell and press Enter.

d) Install the worker: in the CRM go to Settings → “🧠 Claude connection” → “Automatic worker”, copy the command (irm https://crm.sbt.az/claude-runner/install.ps1 | iex), paste it into PowerShell (right click) and press Enter.

e) When the installer asks «CRM-in Claude unvanini yapisdirin» (paste the CRM Claude address), paste the address from step 1 and press Enter. The installer checks the CRM connection and Claude Code, then prints a green «Hazirdir» (Done).

f) Check: a few minutes later the «🧠 Claude» page and Settings show «✅ The automatic worker is connected». Now a button no longer opens a Claude window — it says “Task queued” and the result arrives within 5 minutes.

The worker runs only while the computer is on and signed in to Windows. While the computer sleeps, tasks wait and are done when it wakes up.

The 5-minute check does not call Claude and does not use limits — Claude starts only when there is a task.

The worker never sends to customers: the “send_reply” tool is blocked for it. You send the reply drafts on the «🧠 Claude» page.

If Claude does not finish a task within 15 minutes it is stopped; you can give such a task manually with “Open in Claude”.

On the computer the CRM address is stored only in %USERPROFILE%\.sbt-crm\mcp-url.txt — outsiders must not have access to this computer.

Log: %USERPROFILE%\.sbt-crm\runner.log — when it checked, what Claude did and any errors.

Changing the schedule

Open “Task Scheduler” from the Start menu → “Task Scheduler Library” on the left.

Double-click «SBT CRM Claude - tapsiriqlar» (the 5-minute check) or «SBT CRM Claude - muracietler» (reply drafts) → “Triggers” → “Edit”.

Change the time or add a new one with “New” → OK. Running the installer again restores the default times (09:00–20:00; 10:00, 14:00, 17:00).

Updating, moving to another computer, removing

Updating (or when the CRM address changes): run the same command (irm https://crm.sbt.az/claude-runner/install.ps1 | iex) again — paste the new address, or press Enter on an empty line to keep the old one.

Moving to another computer: remove the worker from the old computer and do step 4 on the new one. The worker must not run on two computers at the same time.

Removing: run this in PowerShell: Unregister-ScheduledTask -TaskName 'SBT CRM Claude*' -Confirm:$false — then delete the %USERPROFILE%\.sbt-crm folder. To stop Claude’s access to the CRM completely: Settings → “🧠 Claude connection” → “Cancel”.

The Claude address is a secret key: anyone who knows it can read your company’s CRM data through Claude. Do not share it by email, WhatsApp or chat; if in doubt, click “Create a new URL” or “Cancel” immediately.
