POS software for shops: from barcode scan to printed receipt

POS and cash register software for shops: barcode sales, cash and card, change, thermal receipts, X and Z reports, controlled returns. Try free for 7 days.

Selling at the till: barcodes, product groups, cash and card

There are three ways to find an item: scan its barcode, type its name, code or IMEI, or pick it from product groups.

  • As soon as a full barcode is read the item lands in the basket, and scanning it again adds one more.
  • Payment can be cash, card or mixed: enter the card amount and the cash part is calculated for you.
  • Enter what the customer handed over and the change is shown in large digits.
  • Touch mode enlarges buttons, shows items as tiles and opens an on-screen keypad.
  • Receipts can print on an 80 mm or 58 mm thermal printer without a preview dialog, with your logo if you want it.

Shifts, X and Z reports in the cash register software

The cashier opens a shift with the opening cash. The X report shows running totals without closing the shift; in the Z report the counted cash is entered and the difference from the expected amount is shown. Z numbers are sequential and the reports include VAT totals. A POS receipt is a financial document and cannot be deleted or edited: a wrong sale is corrected with a return.

Controlled returns

  • A return is made from the receipt, the item goes back to stock and a return slip is printed.
  • If the cashier lacks the right, a manager approves the return on the cashier's screen with their own email and password.
  • The return window for older receipts is set in settings and is 14 days by default.
  • A return without a receipt requires a reason, and an admin can switch this option off entirely.

POS connected to stock and sales

Each register is tied to one warehouse and sells only from it, so an item with no stock cannot be added to the basket. Registers can be assigned to specific cashiers, who cannot open a shift on someone else's register. The VAT rate is set on the product card and prices are entered including VAT. Wholesale prices and wholesale minimums are checked at the till too, and IMEI-tracked items are sold by number. If 1C is connected, receipts and returns are transferred to 1C.

Who it is for and how to start

The POS is designed for shops, pharmacies, cafés and businesses that sell both retail and wholesale. An admin creates the register in settings and selects its warehouse and cashiers, and products can be uploaded from Excel. Your 7-day free trial starts when you sign up, with no bank card required. Plans that include both POS and inventory are listed on the Pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Does SBT CRM issue fiscal receipts?

Currently the POS works in manual mode: the cashier enters the receipt number from the online cash register (NKA) that Azerbaijan requires for retail sales. The CRM receipt is printed with the note “Not a fiscal receipt”. Direct integration with the devices is planned for a later stage.

What printer do I need?

A thermal printer with 80 mm or 58 mm paper. You select the paper width in the register settings, and a Chrome or Edge shortcut prints receipts without a preview dialog.

Can I accept a return when the receipt cannot be found?

Yes, with a receiptless return: you enter the item, quantity and reason, and a manager approves it if the cashier lacks the right. An admin can turn this off.

Does it work on a touchscreen?

Yes. Touch mode has large buttons, product tiles and an on-screen keypad, and full-screen mode hides the menu. Barcode scanners work in this mode as well.

Can a cashier sell on another cashier's register?

If registers are assigned to cashiers, each cashier sees only their own register and any unassigned ones. They cannot open a shift, sell or process returns on someone else's register, while managers and admins see all registers.
